The "Cunha" was inaugurated on 31 March 1906, even as bakery in "Santa Catarina", near the "Capela das Almas".
In the thirties, its location moved to the other side of the street, opening already Candy Store Cunha and can be seen in the photos below, behind the wagon "bread-warps". In the 70s its location moved to the place where today is located in the "Emporium Building," designed by architect Arthur de Almeida Junior in 1939. The Candy Store Cunha being designed by architects Victor Palla, Benedict d'Almeida and Joao Bento d'Almeida, made the Cunha name, is today not only a gastronomic reference, but also architectural. The architect Victor Palla with inspiration in the years 50/60, drew the Cunha tables as small "islands of sofas", offering customers a huge comfort and privacy. |
